I was doing some random Google searches and found a list of celebrities who passed from mixing alcohol with medications. I was shocked on how many names were on the list. At work, patients are constantly asking me is it okay to take this medication with alcohol. You must always remember alcohol is a drug also which can cause drowsiness, impaired judgement, vomiting, etc. Mixing alcohol with different medications can make the side effects of alcohol and the drug you mixed it with more pronounced and toxic to the body. It also takes a smaller amount of alcohol to feel the effects when taking medication. Always check the medication label or ask your pharmacist before mixing alcohol and medications!
